About Me

“Peripatetic” – It not only sounds cool, it describes me. My professional life has taken me from religion to education to philanthropy to autos. Academically, I’ve traveled from North Carolina to California, and from Illinois to South Carolina. Squarely in my middle years, I am transitioning from parenthood back to adulthood. With two grown children and one nearing the finish line in High School, I’m exploring the broader world for the very first time by traveling overseas when I can, and writing like I haven’t in years. About family (however it’s defined), about faith (whatever that may mean), and about all the joys of being alive (which includes watching birds and playing rescuer to dogs, as well as caring for neighbors and teaching high school football players how to play the ultimate team game, well).

When I'm not writing or reading, you can find me on the practice fields coaching football. It's become my avocation and passion. It's how I give back to the community that has given so much to me and to my family.

Life’s a journey. And I’m running as fast as I can.
